Job description
As a Fleet Manager at Barge Master, you will be part of the management team and play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency and safety of our equipment. Together with your team of equipment engineers, you will be responsible for maintaining and managing our fleet, guiding the development and deployment of new equipment and establishing strong relationships with suppliers. Your leadership and organizational skills will be essential in managing maintenance schedules, overseeing mobilizations and demobilizations and ensuring all equipment meets certification standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure Equipment Reliability and Cost-Effectiveness:
- Set up and manage a comprehensive maintenance and inspection schedule.
- Maintain a strategic inventory of critical spare parts and tools.
- Analyze and document breakdowns to prevent recurrence and improve reliability.
- Ensure all equipment Mobilizations and demobilizations:
- Oversee project engineering in close collaboration with project managers.
- Ensure equipment is assembled and commissioned according to specifications and within budget.
- Lead Construction of New Equipment:
- Plan, organize and control project management activities for new equipment
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to manage the design phase.
- Oversee assembly, commissioning and certification of new equipment.
- Develop Strategic Supplier Partnerships with Key Suppliers.
- Define and implement training programs and learning goals for team members.
- Periodic Monitoring and Reporting.
Requirements:
- Completed technical HBO/WO education.
- Background in electromechanical systems, with the ability to review electrical, hydraulic, software and structural drawings.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Proven ability to oversee complex projects from planning to execution, ensuring quality, budget adherence and timely completion.
- Effective communicator in English, with proficiency in Dutch being an advantage, able to collaborate with project managers, suppliers and team members.
- Adaptable and capable of handling ad hoc work efficiently, especially during equipment commissioning
- Approximately 5 years of relevant work experience in equipment maintenance, project management or related field.
